Summary
Supervises simulator maintenance repair installation and operation of various types of electronic and electromechanical equipment and related devices such as simulated electronic transmitting and receiving devices: micro- mini- and mainframe computers terminals and peripheral equipment; industrial measuring and controlling equipment; video and optical equipment and motion actuators. Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations through performance of organizational intermediate and preventive maintenance actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the inter-relationships of circuits. Exercises independent judgement in supervising the performance of such tasks as making circuit analyses calculating waveforms and tracing relationships in signal flow. Supervises the use of various test equipment such as digital multimeters oscilloscopes special test equipment and complex test instruments such as time domain reflectometers and complex computer control equipment.
- Supervises and operates instructor Operator Stations and Debrief Room in support of maintenance troubleshooting and aviator training. Generates performance evaluations of subordinate personnel assigned to his or her shift of responsibility. Recommends approval or disapproval of vacation requests to the site manager. May have to participate in meetings in support of technical matters as directed by the Site or Program Manager.
- Expected to provide technical guidance to technicians. Responsible for those duties as specified in the Maintenance Quality Safety and other CAE Simulation and Training Programs. Performs other related and collateral duties supervising unionized employees as required. Supervises on-site compliance with OSHA and safety requirements.
- Limited travel may be required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years simulator or aircraft maintenance experience.
- Meet all skill requirements for an Electronics Technician Maintenance III and have a broad simulator system level knowledge combined with specialized training in visual computer or display disciplines.
- Have demonstrated competence through satisfactory progressive performance in electronic maintenance.
- Must possess obtain and maintain a CompTIA Security Certification.
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements only U.S. Citizens are eligible for this role.
- Requires demonstrated experience to include large scale complex D/A integration; simulation; loading systems visual display systems PCIG HLA and enterprise network (SW/HW/ Ethernet / firewire cabling ARINC 429 data bus) or equivalent.
- Must possess the ability to prioritize direct and coordinate the assigned technicians and perform all normal duties of an electronics technician maintenance III.
Security Responsibilities
Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form. Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment
- The working environment is one of a large industrial area and shared office spaces. Workspace hazards include but are not limited to: Loud noises mechanical operations high-voltage electrical systems fall tripping slipping hazards as well as elevated and or confined working spaces. Limited handling and disposition of hazardous material will be required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds over head.
- Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into simulator cockpit.
- Must be able to stoop bend and crawl on top or under device.
- Must be able to detect odors or hear noises bangs etc. or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
