Position Overview:
- Company is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer for an anticipated six-month engagement supporting technology deployments at construction and data center project sites.
- This individual will be responsible for setting up network and technology infrastructure within temporary jobsite offices and trailers supporting collaboration and AV technology and coordinating with subcontractors and onsite teams.
- The ideal consultant can operate independently work directly with customer stakeholders troubleshoot issues in the field and take ownership of onsite deployments.
- A more senior consultant who can serve as a strong onsite technical leader would be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Network & Infrastructure:
- Install and configure basic network environments within portable jobsite trailers and temporary offices.
- Deploy and configure network switches firewalls and wireless access points.
- Build and organize network racks.
- Support structured and low-voltage cabling installations.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Test and validate equipment and connectivity to ensure the environment is operational.
- Collaboration & AV:
- Set up and configure meeting room technologies including Logitech conference room solutions and OWL conferencing devices.
- Install mount and configure TVs displays mounting brackets and related equipment.
- Support Microsoft Teams Rooms and similar collaboration technology.
- Test meeting room functionality and ensure environments are ready for end users.
- Field Coordination & Leadership:
- Serve as the onsite technical resource for deployments.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Communicate directly with stakeholders and onsite teams.
- Coordinate third-party contractors performing cabling mounting and other installation activities.
- Provide onsite technical direction and help resolve issues impacting the deployment.
- Ensure work is completed according to customer requirements and project timelines.
- Communicate project status issues and dependencies to the appropriate teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on field deployment experience.
- Experience installing and configuring network switches firewalls wireless access points and network racks.
- Familiarity with structured cabling and low-voltage installations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across network and physical infrastructure.
- Ability to independently manage onsite technical work.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and onsite teams.
- Comfortable working within active construction / project environments.
- Hands-on network deployment: Switches firewalls wireless access points racks connectivity troubleshooting and basic network setup.
- Independent field leadership: Must be comfortable owning the onsite deployment communicating with the customer coordinating contractors and solving problems without significant supervision.
- Low-voltage / physical infrastructure: Structured cabling LVC rack builds mounting and enough physical infrastructure knowledge to oversee subcontractors.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting construction sites data center projects temporary offices or jobsite trailers.
- Experience leading onsite technology deployments.
- Experience coordinating low-voltage or structured cabling contractors.
- Experience with Logitech OWL Microsoft Teams Rooms or similar collaboration technologies.
- Experience with new-site or greenfield technology deployments.
Pay Rate: $30 - $32 / Hour
