About the Role
The Field Engineer is an entry-level role supporting the Regulatory & Facilities team. This position provides hands-on exposure to healthcare facility operations compliance readiness and infrastructure assessments.
The Field Engineer will assist with mock regulatory surveys facility condition assessments (FCAs) asset inventory and data collection life safety and physical environment observations and documentation reviews.
This position is ideal for a motivated individual looking to build a long-term career in healthcare facilities management regulatory readiness or healthcare infrastructure consulting.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Regulatory & Facilities Support
- Assist with mock surveys and healthcare regulatory readiness assessments.
- Support Physical Environment (PE) Life Safety and facilities compliance reviews.
- Participate in facility condition assessments (FCAs) and infrastructure evaluations.
- Collect validate and organize asset and equipment data within client systems and assessment platforms.
- Assist with life safety documentation reviews field verification and deficiency tracking.
- Support development of reports findings summaries risk documentation and client deliverables.
- Conduct field observations and document conditions through notes photographs and reporting tools.
- Support ongoing operational readiness initiatives across healthcare environments.
Communication & Collaboration
- Establish positive working relationships with colleagues clients and project stakeholders.
- Communicate ideas and project information clearly professionally and effectively.
- Maintain open communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Demonstrate adaptability and willingness to support evolving team priorities.
Technical Fundamentals
- Develop working knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards and facility operations.
- Develop familiarity with building systems infrastructure components and healthcare environments.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Smartsheet CMMS platforms and other technical tools effectively.
- Assist with data analysis reporting and project tracking activities.
Critical Thinking & Professional Development
- Apply logic and problem-solving skills to support field and project activities.
- Demonstrate initiative accountability and attention to detail.
- Identify issues in the field and elevate concerns appropriately to leadership.
- Build foundational knowledge in healthcare facilities and compliance.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture Facilities Management Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- 03 years of relevant experience or internship experience
- Strong desire to learn healthcare facilities regulatory readiness and project management
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Experience with Smartsheet CMMS platforms AutoCAD or project management tools is a plus
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Senior Director Regulatory & Facilities
Work Location
Will vary Hybrid Role with expectations to work on client sites and remotely. This structure provides flexibility while offering immersive in-person learning and collaboration opportunities critical to your professional growth.
Travel
Up to 75% local and regional travel to healthcare client sites. Frequent overnight travel may be required.
