Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Quality Inspector to join our team. The Maintenance Quality Inspector will inspect maintenance work on transportation infrastructure to ensure all activities meet FDOT standards and our companys quality expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections of maintenance work on roads bridges and other transportation infrastructure.
- Verify that maintenance activities comply with FDOT specifications industry standards and safety regulations.
- Document inspection findings including deficiencies safety hazards and areas requiring repairs or further attention.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and maintain organized inspection and maintenance work records.
- Communicate effectively with contractors engineers and project managers to address and resolve maintenance issues.
- Ensure that safety protocols and environmental regulations are followed during all maintenance work.
- Provide recommendations for improvements in maintenance practices and project execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in civil engineering construction management or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction maintenance or a related field focusing on transportation infrastructure is preferred.
- Excellent driving record
- Current valid drivers licenses
- Strong oral communication skills are crucial for this role as they are needed to interact with other workers on the job site and to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperwork
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and other relevant software.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and technology with the ability to produce detailed reports.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk stand crouch climb for prolonged periods (8-10 hours per day) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to routinely lift push pull and carry heavy loads up to 50 pounds demonstrating physical strength.
Working Conditions
- Overtime nights and weekends as required
- Willingness to travel to different counties
- Outdoor environment which includes inclement weather heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt
- Varying noise levels
- Must be able to use Personal Protective Equipment as required
- Must be able to comply with the companys drug and alcohol testing requirements
