JOB OVERVIEW:
- Will report directly to Restaurant Manager at The Colony Palm Beach.
- Three (3) months of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant resort or private club required.
- Applicant must complete pre-employment background check and drug screening at employers expense.
- Travel is not required.
- Daily transportation to and from worksite is provided.
- On-the-job training is provided.
- Uniforms provided and dry-cleaned.
- Tipped position with guaranteed wage of $ per hour paid bi-weekly. Overtime is available at $ per hour. Employer will guarantee wage in any given workweek when total compensation (including tips) does not meet prevailing wage rate or overtime wage rate. Training wage (non-tipped): $ per hour paid bi-weekly. Overtime when training is available at $ per hour. Food & Beverage Support Staff may be eligible for service charges auto-service incentives (i.e. group contracted gratuities delivery fees etc.) when applicable.
- A single workweek will be used to compute wages due.
- Optional housing is offered on a first-come first-serve basis for workers who are relocating to begin employment. Cost of housing if accepted is $220.00 per week including shuttle transportation to/from work site and apartment complex only. If used total cost of housing will be deducted from paycheck on a bi-weekly basis. A one-time final cleaning fee of up to $65 per person will be deducted evenly upon departure from all occupants in unit. If housing is accepted employee is expected to remain in housing for entire period of contract or until early approved departure date by manager.
- Additional optional benefits may be offered to worker for workers sole benefit including but not limited to 401(k) medical dental and vision insurance. Health insurance is available the first of the month following 60 days of employment. If voluntarily elected by worker employee costs/contributions for benefits will be deducted from paycheck on a bi-weekly basis.
- All deductions from paycheck required by law will be made.
- If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs during the last workweek. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
- The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
- The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools uniforms supplies and equipment required to perform the job.
- H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa visa processing border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by government (excluding passport fees).
- Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening weekend and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 6:00am to 1:00pm 11:00am to 6:00pm or 4:00pm to 11:00pm. Shift hours may vary.
ESSENTIALS JOB FUNCTIONS:
Full-time temporary Food & Beverage Support Staff who will be responsible for setting tables clearing tableware delivering food orders to tables and bar areas assisting with filling orders in café such as bagging up to-go orders and making coffee/espresso/smoothie drinks assisting with seating guests expediting food delivery from line restocking and refilling condiments delivering and retrieving in-room dining trays rolling silverware moving tables and chairs in accordance with restaurant/event set-up delivering maintaining and restocking pool amenities and supplies including stocking water stations picking up dishes trash and towels around the pool replacing and restocking towels and providing beverages and snacks to guests. Maintaining safe and clean environments at all times including cleaning random spills puddles and ice around the pool and in restaurant area.
