Job Summary
Position Summary:
The Family Resource Worker is responsible for Recruitment Training Supervision and Evaluation and Retention of CENTROs Comprehensive Foster Care addition this person is responsible for providing support guidance and identifying and accessing community resources to support the families on his/her caseload maintaining program quality and keeping direct communication with DCF direct and supervisory staff well as the Program Director. The Family Resource Worker carries a caseload (a minimum of 12 foster homes).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Responsible for support and oversight of program providers and for maintaining program quality. This responsibility includes but is not limited to provider orientation and training performance monitoring ensuring adherence to program policies and procedures and yearly program evaluations. Attend staff meetings and training. And continually stay abreast of updates to all procedures and forms to comply with DEEC regulations. Further Responsible for maintaining a minimum caseload of 12 homes.
- Assessment: Responsible for providing a clinical assessment of each family. All strengths resources risks and needs should be identified and addressed within treatment planning. By working with the Program Director and program providers the Family Resource Worker will successfully identify assets resources challenges and opportunities. Lead monthly group training with foster parents provide continued training and education to foster parents through individual or group format.
- Documentation: The Family Resource Worker will record all contacts in a professional and timely manner in accordance with the standards of the contract. All notes and assessment forms will be entered into i-FamilyNet and our internal electronic health records system.
- Foster Families: Complete monthly home visits to support the unique needs and strengths of each Foster Parent utilizing current best practices and supports that meet the needs of the child and overall household. These supports promote permanency and continuity within each household.
- As part of our multi-disciplinary treatment team assist in the process of matching children with appropriate foster families.
- Special Projects: Expected to participate organize and/or conduct networking and professional development activities such as helping organize conferences workshops and trainings.
- Outreach: Expected to conduct community outreach activities to ensure increased program utilization by foster families and to establish and maintain contact with community resources.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
- Mandated Reporter Statute: An individual in this position is considered a Mandated Reporter when on or off duty according to Massachusetts Statutes.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Required:
- Bachelors degree in social work Counseling Education or Related Degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Minimum three years of experience in Human Services Social Work Education or Case Management
- Must be a Licensed Social Work Assistant (LSWA) or higher in MA or willingness to obtain a Massachusetts Social Work license (minimum LSWA) within six months of hire.
- Valid Massachusetts drivers license with a good driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the foster care system in Massachusetts.
- Experience with Virtual Gateway and/or Electronic Health Records systems.
- Previous experience conducting home visits and case documentation.
Physical Demands
- Able to walk up and down stairs.
- Able to carry 20lbs bags.
- Able to drive to and from appointments meetings and conferences.
- Able to write lengthy reports.
