Basic Function:

Kent State Universitys College of Nursing invites internal and external applications for a full-time nine-month non-tenure track faculty position beginning Spring 2027. We seek and experience student-focused educator to join our dynamic and growing nursing program.

The successful candidate will primarily teach medical-surgical and/or critical care nursing in the BSN curriculum and may also teach undergraduate and graduate-level nursing courses as needed. Responsibilities include both classroom and clinical instruction with a strong commitment to nursing education at multiple levels.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following:

Teach nursing courses in the BSN program.

Teach assigned graduate nursing courses within the colleges graduate curriculum.

Provide high-quality instruction in both didactic and clinical settings.

Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.

Participate in curriculum development evaluation and program enhancement.

Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to support student success.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Active Ohio RN License

At least 2 years of practice in the Med-Surg and/or Critical Care area.

Demonstrated clinical experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.

Commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.

Preferred Qualifications if applicable:

Experience teaching at undergraduate levels.

Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.

Doctoral degree (PHD or DNP) preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
