About Quinsigamond Community College:

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) is a premier learning community recognized for teaching and learning excellence relevant and responsive programming student success and community outreach and impact. The College serves over 9500 full- and part-time day and evening students each year. It offers 112 associate degrees and certificates in Business Hospitality Management Engineering Information Technology Education Healthcare Human Services Criminal Justice Liberal Arts Mathematics Biotechnology Automotive Technology and General Studies. The College also offers a wide variety of non-credit courses workshops and corporate trainings through its Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education as well as adult basic education and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes through its Adult Community Learning Center. Job Description:

General Statement

For over fifty years Quinsigamond Community College has provided opportunities for a first-rate education and personal growth to thousands of area men and women. Some students choose to prepare for immediate entry into a career field. Some choose to transfer to bachelors level programs at four-year colleges and universities and some choose opportunities for personal growth and cultural enrichment. Quinsigamond Community College is seeking student-centered faculty and staff who are committed to the community college mission and actively engaged in promoting diversity.

This position facilitates learning for students enrolled in any of the Mathematics courses. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong commitment to student success equity in college Mathematics education and academic experience in Mathematics.

The full-time workload for this position may take place in Worcester Southbridge or any another QCC instructional location.

Supervision Received

Reports to the Dean of the School of Math Science and Engineering

Supervision Exercised

The full-time faculty member exercises supervision over personnel assigned to them.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of mathematics courses including developmental mathematics algebra statistics trigonometry calculus and differential equations.
  • Provide classroom laboratory and/or team-teaching instruction and facilitate individualized and non-traditional approaches to learning as appropriate.
  • Develop and/or revise instructional materials with other faculty members.
  • Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Develop and apply assessment strategies that maximize the learning process and measure student learning outcomes.
  • Actively participate in ongoing curriculum & program review.
  • Conduct academic advising and assistance of students.
  • Participate in college service activities in concert with the provisions of the MCCC Agreement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in mathematics applied mathematics statistics mathematics education or in a related field with at least 6 semester hours of graduate-level mathematics or mathematics education courses. (Must be confirmed by unofficial transcript).
  • At least two years of teaching mathematics at the secondary or collegiate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of college teaching in a community college setting.
  • Documented evidence of teaching a wide range of Mathematics courses including Statistics.
  • Documented examples of curriculum / course development and assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in using technology in the teaching of Math.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of a college-wide Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct mathematics in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated track record in innovative non-traditional modes of instruction and instructional deliveryincluding flipped classrooms team teaching across disciplinesonline teaching service learning andcorequisite remediation.
  • Documented evidence/examples of effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-articulated understanding of the role of community colleges their students and philosophy.
  • Evidence of understanding of and appreciation for diversity multiculturalism inclusion and equity.
  • Predisposition to working in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility adaptability and teamwork.
  • Strong evidence of passionate commitment to striving for excellence in working with students faculty and staff and in responding to opportunities that extend the Mission of the College.

Salary is commensurate with MCCC/MTA salary schedule and dependent upon such factors as education and experience. Minimum starting salary for Masters level candidate is $60483 Full salary range is $60483-$62780. Full benefits package.
