Job Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery equipment and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
Troubleshoots escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
Receives inspects inventories and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities
Assists trades crafts vendors and technical staff with construction design and operational maintenance as needed
Must be available for occasional after-hours call ins weekday and weekends
Must be available for occasional assistance to Grounds Dept for snow removal
Other duties as assigned
Perform occasional asbestos-related work including collecting bulk samples of suspected asbestos; containing materials for laboratory analysis and occasionally performing small-scale glove-bag removals.

Required Qualifications:
Read write and communicate effectively
Use of computer smartphone and laptop
Mechanical Aptitude
Possession of the required Asbestos Worker Certification at the time of hire or must successfully obtain and maintain within one year of employment. The University will provide and pay for all required training and certification costs.
H.S. Diploma or equivalency required.
Must successfully complete a post offer employment test.
Must hold a valid drivers license to drive University Vehicles
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of commercial / industrial air handling
Ability to use an electrical multimeter

Pay rate is $26 per hour
The selected candidate must be able to pass a post-offer employment test and hold a valid drivers license to obtain Wisconsin certification to drive University vehicles.
A six-month probationary period is required.
