Facilities Engineer 2
Job Description:
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the design operation maintenance reliability and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role serves as a technical leader for facilities systems and capital projects ensuring utility systems cleanroom environments life safety systems and manufacturing support infrastructure operate safely reliably and efficiently. The successful candidate will have multiple years of facilities engineering experience within semiconductor microelectronics high-tech manufacturing pharmaceutical or other critical manufacturing environments. The Facilities Engineer will lead facility upgrades capacity expansions equipment installations and infrastructure improvement projects while supporting operational excellence regulatory compliance and long-term strategic site objectives. The candidate will work closely with Facilities Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Security Engineering Contractors and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure all life safety systems are designed tested maintained and upgraded in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support for critical facility systems including:
HVAC and cleanroom systems
Chilled water and condenser water systems
Process cooling water systems
Compressed dry air (CDA)
Vacuum systems
Industrial gases and specialty gas distribution
DI water and wastewater treatment systems
Electrical distribution systems
Building automation and control systems
Monitor facility system performance and implement reliability improvements.
Perform capacity assessments and develop long-range infrastructure plans.
Troubleshoot complex facility equipment and utility system issues.
Support preventive predictive and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Lead capital and expense projects from conception through commissioning.
Develop project scopes budgets schedules and resource plans.
Manage engineering consultants contractors vendors and service providers.
Coordinate construction activities while minimizing production disruptions.
Track project milestones budgets and performance metrics.
Present project updates to site leadership and stakeholders.
Ensure successful turnover startup and commissioning of completed projects.
Partner with Manufacturing Process Engineering Facilities Maintenance EH&S and Quality teams.
Support installation and qualification of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Evaluate facility impacts associated with new process tools and production expansions.
Coordinate utility requirements for new manufacturing technologies.
Support cleanroom performance environmental controls and contamination prevention programs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA NFPA SEMI local building codes and environmental regulations.
Support Management of Change (MOC) processes
Key Competencies Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities engineering
Strong communication interpersonal and organizational abilities
Demonstrated experience managing capital projects from design through startup and commissioning.
Experience supporting cleanroom environmental and critical utility systems
Skilled in Microsoft Office and database tools (SAP preferred)
Experience with CMMS BAS and energy management systems
Lean Six Sigma or reliability engineering expertise
Previous Relevant Work Experience:
Strong knowledge of building systems construction methods and engineering standards
Prior semiconductor manufacturing experience
Experience managing contractors consultants and capital budgets
Experience with dangerous substances; including gases solids and liquids
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical Electrical Civil Facilities or related discipline)
Additional Details:
