- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and work orders to determine project requirements.
- Measure cut shape and assemble metal components according to specifications.
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform welding grinding drilling and finishing work as required.
- Inspect fabricated parts and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
- Repair or modify metal structures and components as needed.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work area.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with welders fitters supervisors and other team members to complete projects on schedule.
- Follow all company safety policies procedures and quality standards.
- Accurately document completed work and material usage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in metal fabrication welding or a related manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Experience using fabrication equipment such as saws grinders presses drills and cutting tools.
- Knowledge of measuring tools including tape measures calipers squares and levels.
- Experience with MIG TIG and/or stick welding preferred.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift move and handle materials in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
- Ability to stand bend kneel and work on feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds or more with assistance when required.
- Comfortable working in industrial construction or shop environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
