SPX is adiverseteam of unique individuals who all make an impact.As theFabrication Manageryou will beakey operations leaderfor the production facility inMadisonAL.Your responsibilities willincludelead mentorand developagroup ofSupervisorsassignedtothree different shifts who are managinghourly production employees; this toensure efficient operationsmaintainhigh safety standards deliver qualityproducts and achieve on-time deliveryto internaland externalcustomers.Maintains two-way communication between team members and plant leadership team.The successfulFabricationManagerwill have strong leadership abilities a strategic mindset a passion for operational excellence andexperience driving continuous improvement.
What you can expect in this role(Job Responsibilities)

Management/Leadership:
Lead mentor developand managea team of production supervisors providing guidance coaching and support to ensure efficient and effectiveoperations and a positive work environment
Activelyparticipateas a member of the plant leadership team to helpdeterminestrategy and direction for plant operations
Foster open communication and promote a culture oftrust andengagement embodying the SPX core values
Partner intherecruitmentof employees by activelyparticipatingin thehiringselection and on-boardingprocesses
Actively support employee training and developmentbyidentifyingtraining needs developing training plans providing coaching and guidance to enhanceemployee skills and knowledge
Lead performance management of plant employees
Develop and implement key process indicators to support the plants goals andoptimizework flowbetween variousdepartments
Proactively address employeerelations issues including disciplineand challenges in a positiveand proactivemanner
Ensure employees receive the proper training on assigned jobs

Foster a culture of safety by promoting and enforcing adherence to safety measures guidelines regulations
Assistin investigations of safety concerns
Serve as champion of safety encouraging employees toidentifyrisksandwork together to resolve issues
:
Collaboratewith cross functional teams including production planninglogistics engineering procurementmaintenanceand sales to improve production processesand ensure on-time delivery of orders that meet customer expectations
Advise and work with maintenance on machine and facility issues ensuring machine up-time.
Manage department budgets andlaborgoals
Ensure the highest level of product quality through the recommendation and implementation of robust quality control procedures and processes
Implement and monitor inventory control measures to minimize stock discrepancies andoptimizeinventory levels
Develop andmaintaineffective relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensuretimelyandcost effectivedelivery of materials
Create and review reports outlining key operational metrics
4. Continuous Improvement:
Provide leadership in lean manufacturing deployment to drive cultural transformation
Develop and implement strategies tooptimizeproductivity reduce cost and improve overall operational efficiency
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) toidentifyareas for improvement and take proactive measures to address
Identifyand recommend opportunities for automation process optimization and technological advances to drive operational excellence
In partnership with plant leadership team implement long term planning activities designed to enhance operations and manage capital projects
Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization

RequiredExperience
Atleast7years ofsupervisory/management/leadershipexperiencein a manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Experience working inanERP related system
Experience in a manufacturing environment that creates highly engineered customized products
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicateand collaborateacross organizational levels (production employees engineering sales leadership)
Proven ability to motivateand inspireothersto achieve goals
Proven experience attractingretaining motivating and developing high performing diverse teams
Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement lean savings and process improvements
Sound knowledge of operational processes including production planning scheduling inventory management and quality control
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and the ability to drive a culture of safety
Ability to prioritize tasks manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Proficiencyinutilizingmanufacturing software for inventory management and production planning and systems for data analysis and reporting
Skills inMicrosoft Office software
Knowledge of HVAC industry
Education & Certifications
Bachelorsdegreeor equivalent combination of educationtrainingand experience
MBA or degree in mechanical or industrial engineering ormanagementpreferred
Travel & Working Environment
Onsite
Plant environment and may be exposed tobad weather excessiveheatand/or noise
