We are searching for an Event Sales Manager
The Event Sales Manager at the Beacon Grand is responsible for driving catering revenue and securing high-profile social and corporate events for one of San Franciscos most iconic properties. This role is the primary point of contact for clients seeking to host weddings galas and sophisticated corporate gatherings. The Manager proactively solicits new business nurtures existing relationships and serves as a brand ambassador to ensure every event reflects the Iconic Grandeur of the hotel. With a specialized focus on the wedding market the Event Sales Manager guides couples through the sales process with empathy precision and luxury-tier service.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Sales
- Proactively solicits negotiates and confirms new and repeat business through outbound sales efforts site inspections and industry networking.
- Achieves or exceeds monthly and quarterly revenue goals for catering and banquet food and beverage.
- Manages the full sales cycle for the social market with a heavy emphasis on luxury weddings rehearsal dinners and post-wedding brunches.
- Responds to all inquiries (RFPs) with urgency providing customized proposals and creative menus that showcase the hotels culinary excellence.
Wedding & Social Specialization
- Acts as the dedicated expert for the wedding market understanding the unique emotional and logistical needs of couples and wedding planners.
- Conducts professional and inspiring site tours of the hotels grand ballrooms and social spaces.
- Partners with the culinary team to design bespoke menus and tasting experiences that align with the Beacon Grands luxury standards.
Strategic Planning & Administration
- Develops and executes a seasonal sales action plan to capture holiday parties social galas and corporate celebrations.
- Negotiates sophisticated contracts and manages deposit schedules ensuring all financial and legal requirements are met.
- Utilizes sales systems (e.g. Delphi/Amadeus) to track activities manage bookings and generate accurate revenue forecasts.
Collaboration & Brand Standards
- Works closely with the Events Services and Banquet teams to ensure a seamless hand-off from sales to execution.
- Maintains a high level of visibility within the San Francisco event community representing the Beacon Grand at industry events and trade shows.
- Ensures all client interactions reflect the hotels commitment to high-touch boutique service and San Francisco sophistication.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in catering sales or event management preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end event venue.
- Proven track record of success in the wedding market and a strong network of local corporate planners and vendors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to high-net-worth clients and corporate executives.
- Proficiency in or similar catering sales platforms.
- A self-starter with a polished professional demeanor a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
