Etch Equipment Engineer Intern Summer 2027

NXP is seeking an undergraduate candidate for an internship program to support the Front End Operations organization at the Austin Manufacturing & Technology Center. As a part of the Etch engineering organization the candidate will work alongside manufacturing operations to enhance NXPs manufacturing performance.


Job Summary:

• Work on projects under the direction of Equipment Engineering to help optimize MTBF MTTR maximize equipment efficiency capacity cycle time quality and cost.
• Participate in fab-to-fab standardization activities tool-to-tool matching cost reduction defect reduction as well as throughput improvement projects.
• Learn to develop logical and objective data analysis skills to establish and track metrics to meet department goals.
• Intern will be the owner responsible for the research analysis and presentation to fab leadership of one high-business impact project during their internship.

Job Qualifications:

• Working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Chemistry Materials Science Physics or related field
• Strong data analysis teamwork and communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of SPC and its use in troubleshooting and making improvements.
• Aptitude and desire to learn new skills.
• Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
