Job Summary:

The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery including excavators skid steers loaders forklifts and yard trucks. The role involves ensuring the efficient movement of materials and maintaining safety standards in the yard. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in operating heavy equipment and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators skid steers loaders and forklifts to move materials and perform tasks within the yard.
• Safely operate a yard truck in a backup capacity when necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and tires throughout the yard.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and machinery safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Assist with other yard operations as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience operating excavators skid steers loaders forklifts and yard trucks.
• Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable punctual and proactive in work ethic.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand sit or walk for extended periods of time during the shift

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience in operating heavy machinery (excavators skid steers loaders forklifts).
