Job Summary
PGS Worldwide is seeking Equipment Maintenance Technicians Optics in Richardson Texas for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support optical manufacturing operations by troubleshooting repairing maintaining installing and upgrading electronic electromechanical mechanical laboratory and scientific production equipment.
- Associate degree or other 2-year post-high-school technical training.
- 6 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance electronics mechanical systems technical troubleshooting or automated equipment.
- Experience maintaining equipment in a production manufacturing or factory environment.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic and/or mechanical equipment.
- Experience using hand tools multimeters current probes and/or test and measurement instruments.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings manuals schematics written procedures and related technical documentation.
- Ability to support equipment installation repair preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering manufacturing operations quality and facilities personnel.
- Ability to occasionally work overtime and weekends.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with optical coating or vacuum equipment.
- Experience with diamond-point-turning equipment.
- RF power systems experience.
- Experience working with 480V 208V three-phase 110V and DC electrical systems.
- Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ladder logic.
- Experience leading equipment modification or upgrade projects.
- Experience installing new capital equipment.
- Knowledge of the optics industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Test troubleshoot repair maintain and install electronic electromechanical mechanical computer laboratory and scientific equipment.
- Support equipment used across optical fabrication diamond-point turning optical coating and assembly/test operations.
- Diagnose equipment machinery and production-system issues requiring corrective action.
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Upgrade and modify existing production equipment.
- Support procurement and installation of new capital equipment.
- Participate in factory equipment layout and installation activities.
- Maintain equipment documentation including preventative-maintenance procedures lockout/tagout procedures and equipment inventories.
- Work with engineering and facilities teams on equipment upgrades and installations.
- Support efforts to improve equipment uptime reliability and manufacturing process performance.
- Full-time onsite.
- 9/80A schedule.
- Training will occur on 1st Shift for approximately six months.
- 1st Shift: approximately 7:00 AM start.
- 2nd Shift: approximately 2:00 PM start following training.
- Weekend and overtime work may occasionally be required.
- $32.58 per hour.
- Overtime eligible.
