Description

SFE Engineering is seeking an eQuest Energy Modeler to join our team in Flushing on a full-time on-site basis. This position sits within the architecture and planning industry where you will play a key role in shaping energy-efficient building designs and supporting sustainable development goals across a range of projects.

As an eQuest Energy Modeler you will be responsible for creating detailed energy models performing simulations and analyzing building performance to inform design decisions. You will work closely with engineers architects and project teams to ensure compliance with energy codes and to optimize building efficiency throughout the design and construction process.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and run energy models using eQuest software for various building types
  • Perform whole-building energy simulations and analyze results
  • Support compliance with local and state energy codes and standards
  • Collaborate with architects engineers and project managers on design integration
  • Prepare energy analysis reports and present findings to project teams
  • Assist in identifying energy efficiency measures and optimization strategies
  • Review design drawings and specifications for energy modeling inputs
  • Conduct parametric studies to evaluate design alternatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation of modeling assumptions and results
  • Stay current with industry trends and updates in energy modeling tools and standards
Requirements
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience using eQUEST for energy modeling in accordance with NYC building codes.
  • Understanding of building energy systems and HVAC fundamentals
