Epic Beaker Analyst II

Job Summary
The Epic Beaker Analyst II leads the design configuration and optimization of Epic Beaker workflows within and across specialty areas to enable reliable efficient laboratory operations and revenue cycle performance. This role applies deep understanding of laboratory science data integration and order-to-cash processes to create scalable and compliant solutions.
The Beaker Analyst II collaborates with laboratory leadership technology and cross-application Epic teams to ensure that all Beaker configurations support laboratory excellence operational efficiency and end-user experience. This role also contributes to standardization efforts governance models and mentoring of other analysts.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and configuration of Beaker CP/AP workflows instrument interfaces and middleware integrations.
- Architect and validate cross-specialty templates (Chemistry Hematology Microbiology Molecular AP).
- Partner with enterprise architecture and revenue-cycle teams to strengthen the digital chain from order capture through results coding and billing.
- Manage validation protocols regression testing and change-control documentation.
- Mentor analysts establishing configuration standards and reusable components.
- Monitor operational KPIs (TAT error rate billing success) and implement system enhancements to improve experience and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
- 5 years of Epic Beaker configuration experience with measurable improvements in laboratory performance.
- Mastery of specimen routing result rules and billing interface logic.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary build teams.
- Deep understanding of regulatory and data-integrity standards in a lab setting.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Experience integrating Beaker with automation systems or reference-lab networks.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or continuous-improvement methodologies.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in computer science medical technology or related field or equivalent work experience (Required)
Certification:
- Active Epic Beaker CP or AP certification (Required)
Preferred:
- Additional relevant Epic certifications
- Project-management or process-improvement credential (PMP Green Belt etc)
Travel Required:
- Travel 25% - about one week a month
