Job Description:

This position provides mission engineering support services for a Washington DC-based customer. The candidate will need to have in-depth knowledge associated with the use and performance of L3Harris-developed systems and products (both hardware and software). The candidate will monitor and trend system performance and must be able to recognize and respond to anomalous conditions. The individual is expected to be able to apply advanced engineering standards principles theories concepts and techniques to solve complex problems associated with spaceflight hardware. The candidate will need to work independently to resolve a wide range of engineering problems requiring collaboration with all required disciplines (mechanical optical electrical software etc.). This position requires continuous communication of technical issues risks opportunities and status with respect to L3Harris-supplied products. There is daily interaction with teammates and customers to ensure mission success.

Essential Functions:

Provide Mission Operations support to current L3Harris products
Help develop and verify mission CONOPs as well as drive current CONOPs to successful program execution
Work with L3Harris off-site factory support as well as on-site customers in a fast-paced multi-company environment
Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional surge or shift work

Qualifications:

Must currently have an active Top Secret security clearance
Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics or another related scientific discipline and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Or a Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; Or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant systems engineering experience
2 years of relevant experience with space systems and/or sensor systems technology design manufacture integration and test
Experience with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and MATLAB

Preferred Additional Skills:

Background in EO/IR or imaging systems design is highly desired
Familiarity with Linux
Familiarity with ground telemetry and commanding software and mission scheduling software
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with a cross-functional team and act as a customer interface
Disciplined approach to procedural and program documentation of processes and results
Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Virginia (Greater D.C. area) is $92500-$171500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
