Environmental Waste Technician

• C Shift Friday-Saturday 6a-430p Sunday-Monday 6p-430A
• B Shift- Tuesday-Friday 6pm-430A

• Collect trash recyclables hazardous waste scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport them to disposal containers or storage rooms.
• Segregate sort and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfills recycling centers and other disposal sites.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the 90-day Accumulation Area including sweeping the floor mopping the floor and labeling drums.
• Assist the supervisor in responding to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned-up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist the Resource Manager with daily supply delivery waste pick-up and waste organization.
• Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during inspections.
• Inventory and inspect waste spill kits.
• Document and inform the Resource Manager of any contamination in the plants recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain and complete necessary documentation of waste inventories inspections and other required activities.
• Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.
• Follow all plant-related safety guidelines

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Any equivalent combination of experience training and/or education.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.

• Forklift experience.
