Job Summary
The Town of Bar Harbor is now hiring for the position of Environmental Services Superintendent to help lead our Transfer Station Facility.
The Superintendent performs all functions necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the Bar Harbor Transfer Station in compliance with all applicable state solid waste management rules and permits. It is the primary responsibility of the Transfer Station Superintendent to manage and maintain all the Towns Solid Waste Section activities. The Transfer Station Superintendent is also responsible for oversight management and training of the other attendants to ensure the job duties are performed adequately and safely. The Transfer Station Superintendent is also responsible to ensure snow plowing and removal of the Transfer Station site is completed in a timely manner during and after snow events.
The position provides leadership and motivates staff engages with the solid waste and recycling communities maintains and updates the facilities operations manuals oversees maintenance and repairs of the facility and more. For a full job description please visit here.
The successful candidate will be safety conscious a team player and possess a valid CDL A.
Salary Range: $70000- $80000
Desired qualifications include:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment performing both preventative and reactive maintenance.
