Job Summary
From the Delaware Bay to the Atlantic Ocean Delawares coastal resources contribute to its economy environment and quality of life. DNRECs Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) is a networked program that works to preserve protect develop enhance and resolve conflicts related to the states coastal resources. Delaware Coastal Management Program serves as the Departments research education and policy lead for coastal and ocean issues. DCP is also the state managing partner for the National Coastal Zone Management Program and works closely with NOAA.

- Conducts field studies or inspections and evaluations for compliance with permit and regulatory requirements; observes collects analyzes reviews and interprets data from standard field studies compliance inspections various regulatory submissions or literature and makes recommendations.
- Performs statistical analysis of data.
- Conducts technical reviews and makes recommendations on permit applications or other various regulatory submissions to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Prepares permits technical reports and/or enforcement case documents.
- Responds to technical/regulatory inquiries from other state local and federal agencies as well as public and private organizations or individuals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Environmental Scientist III
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Possession of a Bachelors degree or higherin Life Physical or Applied Science or related field.
- Two years experience in analyzing and evaluating scientific data.
- Two years experience in interpreting environmental laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures.
- Two years experience in technical report writing.

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
