Remote / Travel-Based U.S. Projects

A growing environmental remediation contractor is seeking an experienced hands-on Construction Superintendent to lead field execution on complex remediation projects across the United States. This is a travel-based role for a practical safety-driven field leader who is comfortable operating in remote project locations and taking ownership of day-to-day site performance.

The successful candidate will serve as the on-site operational leader partnering closely with a Project Manager while directing crews subcontractors equipment sequencing safety quality and schedule execution. Projects may include soil and groundwater remediation excavation treatment-system installation and operation dewatering piping pumps process equipment contaminated-media handling and related civil or industrial field construction.

This is not a desk-based project-management role. We are looking for a boots-on-the-ground superintendent with substantial environmental remediation experience who can make sound field decisions communicate clearly and maintain a safe productive site under challenging conditions.

What youll do
  • Lead daily field operations on environmental remediation and environmental construction projects ranging from smaller short-duration assignments to large multi-phase programs.
  • Serve as the senior on-site representative and primary field partner to the Project Manager.
  • Plan coordinate and supervise crews foremen subcontractors equipment operators and specialty vendors.
  • Drive safe work execution and ensure compliance with project-specific health and safety plans company procedures regulatory requirements and client expectations.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings pre-task planning toolbox talks field inspections and documentation.
  • Coordinate work involving remediation systems including treatment equipment piping pumps tanks filtration dewatering process components and related utilities.
  • Oversee field activities involving contaminated soil groundwater sludge excavation material handling hauling civil work and heavy equipment.
  • Build and maintain short-interval plans daily work plans manpower plans equipment plans and look-ahead schedules.
  • Monitor production labor equipment utilization material needs and subcontractor performance to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify field constraints early and communicate practical solutions to the Project Manager and internal leadership.
  • Read and execute against plans specifications scopes of work permits work plans and technical drawings.
  • Maintain high-quality daily reports safety records timekeeping production tracking photographs delivery records and field documentation.
  • Coordinate mobilization site setup temporary facilities laydown areas equipment logistics and demobilization.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients inspectors subcontractors suppliers and site personnel.
  • Mentor field personnel and help establish a disciplined collaborative accountable jobsite culture.
  • Travel continuously or semi-continuously to project locations including rural and remote areas.
What were looking for
  • 10 years of environmental remediation environmental construction or closely related field-supervision experience.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a superintendent field superintendent general superintendent lead supervisor or senior foreman on remediation projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of soil and groundwater remediation methods environmental field operations and construction-site execution.
  • Experience in one or both of the following technical areas:
  • Treatment-system installation piping pumps mechanical process equipment plumbing water treatment or groundwater treatment systems.
  • Heavy civil / earthwork / excavation / contaminated-soil handling / dewatering / sludge or material processing.
  • Broad remediation experience across both field construction and treatment-system work is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead crews and subcontractors in active high-accountability field environments.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment field logistics excavation safety utility coordination and construction sequencing.
  • Ability to interpret plans specifications P&IDs piping drawings site plans schedules and technical work packages.
  • Sound judgment calm communication style and the ability to solve problems independently in the field.
  • A track record of maintaining safe organized productive projectsnot simply overseeing paperwork from a distance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work in remote locations for extended project assignments.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to meet company driving and travel requirements.
Preferred qualifications
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification and current refreshers.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience with groundwater treatment systems pump-and-treat systems water-treatment processes dewatering filtration air sparging soil vapor extraction or similar remediation technologies.
  • Experience with industrial municipal refinery power chemical landfill mining manufacturing or brownfield remediation projects.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements including field documentation and waste-handling procedures.
  • Prior experience working on projects in rural industrial or otherwise logistically challenging locations.
Travel and work arrangement

This role is built for someone who enjoys field work and is comfortable traveling where projects are located. Assignments may be in remote areas across the U.S. including the Gulf Coast West Texas the Midwest Appalachia and other regions.

  • Project rotations commonly involve 3060 days on site followed by scheduled time at home subject to project needs and individual circumstances.
  • Project duration may range from several months to longer-term assignments.
  • The company offers flexibility around time off between assignments and recognizes that successful superintendents need a sustainable travel arrangement.
  • Lodging support per diem and/or RV or trailer accommodations may be available depending on the project and employee preference.

Compensation and incentives
  • Base salary typically in the range of $120000$180000 commensurate with remediation experience technical depth and field leadership capability.
  • Project-based performance bonus opportunities.
  • Superintendents may be eligible for incentives tied directly to project profitability and margin performance.
