Job Summary

Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for an Entry Level Tool Maker. You must be able to read blueprints and operate all machines required to manufacture cold heading production tooling. You are responsible for manufacturing assembly component replacement and preventative maintenance for cold header tooling. You will work with cold header operators engineering and production to support lead time requirements.

Job duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machine tools such as conventional mills lathes drill presses grinders saws and hones to fabricate dies and precision parts

  • Read interpret blueprints engineering drawings and CAD/CAM models to understand specifications and tolerances

  • Measure and verify dimensions using precision instruments like micrometers calipers and gauge blocks

  • Assemble adjust and test completed dies or tooling to confirm they meet quality and performance standards

  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean organized work area

  • Assist in tooling developmentby creating rough sketches or fabricating hardware based on engineering input

  • Coordinate with engineers and designersto troubleshoot issues and suggest design improvements

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of toolroom

  • Perform other duties as necessary



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience:Preferred 1-2 years of related machining experience apprenticeship or internship in a manufacturing or tool and die environment. *Willing to train right individual*
  • Skills:Proficiency with hand and power tools blueprint reading and understanding of tolerances
  • Soft skills:Strong problem-solving abilities attention to detail ability to work independently or in a team and adaptability to changing priorities

  • Must be able to work on site in Mauston WI
