Position: Cloud Engineer

Start Date: 07/06/2026

End Date: 1 Years from projected start date

Client: State of MI (Rose International)

Location: Dimondale MI 48821

Bill Rate:$70 to $75

Pay Rate:- $54 to $58 on W2 and $59 to $63 on C2C if they are okay to be presented on W2

Interview Process: Virtual Interview via MS Teams video. Please use laptop and be prepared to share screen if asked

Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1 two days a week. (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are required onsite days).

Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule

Please note bill rate will be taken into consideration for this posting. The manager prefers a more entry level candidate that meets requirements and is submitted at a lower bill rate over a more experienced candidate submitted at a higher bill rate

DESCRIPTION:

The Client is looking for a candidate with a focus on basic cloud engineering Cloud deployment. This role will wear multiple hats assisting Client Cloud Architects and team to comprehend objectives generate solutions POC the solution generate recommendations then implement the decisions. The Entry-Level Cloud Engineer will support the Clients cloud architecture and engineering teams in designing deploying and maintaining cloud-based solutions across public private and hybrid environments. This role is ideal for early career technologists who have foundational cloud knowledge and are eager to grow into a full cloud engineering or cloud architecture role. The engineer will assist senior architects in understanding business objectives developing solution concepts performing proof of concepts and implementing cloud technologies that improve delivery automation and operational efficiency

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelors degree

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:

• Google Cloud Certified Cloud Digital Leader
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

• Cloud Delivery Analyst / Business Analyst 1-3 years
• Knowledge of concepts of designing and developing dynamic Cloud solutions in Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services and moving parts involved in continuous integration and delivery. 1-3 years
• Solid understanding and skill with DevOps web services and application programming interfaces (APIs). 1-3 years
• Foundational institutional knowledge of State of Michigan platforms cloud architecture security requirements and processes. 1-3 years

PREFERRED/ HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Tooling and Automation to enable seamless automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration
• Pipeline Design and Architecture to improve development flow and delivery
• Create maintain and troubleshooting skills for cloud infrastructure
• Cloud security and compliance experience

CORE TASKS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist senior cloud architects with the design and deployment of cloud solutions across the State of Michigan AWS and GCP environments
• Support the build-out of multi-cloud environments including public private and hybrid cloud models
• Help maintain and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure components
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
• Assist with infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools
• Participate in integrating cloud pipelines with existing DevOps systems
• Document architecture decisions pipeline configurations and deployment procedures
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and training activities
• Maintain clear and organized technical documentation for onboarding and future reference
• Support adherence to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST CIS PCI etc.)
• Assist in implementing secure configurations and monitoring controls
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into cloud requirements
• Participate in discussions with vendors product specialists and internal teams to evaluate technologies
• Support enterprise architecture reviews and solution assessments
• Assist with performance analysis troubleshooting and optimization of cloud workloads
• Help design and test workload migrations and disaster recovery scenarios
• Support integration of cloud services with on-premises technologies (VMware Cisco Dell Nutanix etc.)
• Leverage State of Michigan Institutional knowledge to cloud engineering projects
