Engineering Technician Supervisor

Were hiring an Engineer Technician Supervisor for the Street Engineering and Construction Division of the Public Works Department. This position performs responsible supervisory and skilled engineering work in planning investigating designing inspecting administering operating and maintaining assigned public works facilities and projects. The position also coordinates construction projects with other agencies and develops contracts for public works projects.

Heres what you can expect to do:

• Supervise lead and train technical and administrative staff in sidewalks street engineering and construction
• Administer and oversee permitting and licensing process for sidewalk permits
• Manage and oversee sidewalk complaint program software and related processes
• Administrator and oversee the use of infrastructure and construction software
• Manage and administer ADA compliance as part of the sidewalk program
• Administer and oversee ordinance permits and right-of-way permits for the division along with associated plan reviews agreements and construction completion
• Oversee contract administration work quality specification compliance and contractor performance
• Manage update and enforce construction specifications for all aspects street and utility construction

Thirty semester credits in courses acceptable toward an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering as offered by the U of M or equivalent.

AND

Two years of experience as a PW Technician III or equivalentperforming independent advanced level field and office engineering technician work such as drafting inspecting public infrastructure (including sewer or water systems) conducting utility plan review permitting construction cost estimating or supervising survey crews.

For positions at the Asphalt plant:

Candidates for positions at the asphalt plant may qualify as noted above OR

With ten (10) years of experience as a Public Works Supervisor including at least 3 years as a Public Works Supervisor III or equivalent performing supervision of construction and maintenance of public infrastructure and providing work direction in the field.
