Job Summary

As an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) supporting the Watch Product Design (PD) organization you will join a team of PD EPMs that is responsible for technical project management and assisting engineering development with one of our Watch PD teams. The successful candidate will be a fearless organizer utilizing a solid Mechanical Engineering background to drive day-to-day activities with the team to meet the top level program objectives. The PD EPM focuses on system-level mechanical engineering design managing development planning and validation cycles.

Enable efficient development by creating and maintaining a streamlined process capturing parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action itemnDrive upstream component/module builds to fulfill system engineering build demands. Key contributor to system build planning and executionnCollaborate and facilitate communication across multiple engineering teams operations industrial design and our vendor partners to meet aggressive quality schedule and cost goalsnUnderstand technical issues and complex design trade-offs. Drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders; facilitating decision-making discussions to meet overall project objectivesnIdentify risks develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams focus on top level objectives and develop best course of actionnCreate/maintain complex and detailed project schedules for product enclosure and internal mechanical components. Respond quickly to changes and minimize project impactnProvide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shiftnUnderstand system-level part interactions (mechanical electrical RF); manage a plan to provide key system configurations into reliability testing to validate performancenCoordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testingnOffer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management

Engineering degree or equivalent required; BSME Preferredn2 years prior product development experience in project management or mechanical engineering designnDetailed knowledge of product development process and cyclesnStrong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes

Experience interfacing with mechanical engineering/design operations and vendorsnExperience setting up project schedules and work breakdown structuresnExcellent communication presentation organizational and leadership skills. Able to filter and distill relevant information for the right audiencenStrong interpersonal skills oriented toward teamworknSelf motivated and proactive demonstrating creative and critical thinking capabilitiesnUnderstands and able to handle rapid development cycles well; remains flexible and calm in the face of ambiguitynAbility to travel internationally to support buildsnAny of the following is also a plus:nExperience in consumer electronicsnExperience as a practicing engineernExperience with high-volume manufacturing
