Job Summary
This dynamic client is helping push the frontier of LLMs and AI Agents through novel datasets and experimentation. We work on building the most complex infrastructure that powers frontier data creation for agentic and hard reasoning workflows. We work with all 5 of the leading AI labs and are becoming the go-to partner for data infrastructure for YC companies. We have a sharp hockey stick growth rate and are extremely talent-dense with most of our founding team coming from top IB and quant firms.
This company builds the data and evaluation systems powering every frontier AI lab. They scaled from 0 to $100M ARR in 14 months and recently raised a $30M Series A at a $300M valuation.

As Engineering Manager youll own a team of 5-10 engineers with a 50/50 split between building core infra and leading people. This is an ownership role youll ship critical systems while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
- Responsibilities: 50% coding 50% team management
- Reports to: Works alongside and managing junior engineers
- Experience: Senior or staff-level willing to manage
- Skills: Must code and manage experience in infra or platform engineering
- Salary: $300000 to $400000 base

- Experience: 4-7 years senior level preferred

- Salary: $200000 to $350000
- Equity: $250000 to $500000

6 - 10 years of experience building and maintaining platform infrastructure but still with full-stack capabilities.
Experience at VC-backed startup as founding engineer at company that raised $2.5M or from company that specializes in managing data at scale (e.g. Snowflake Databricks Confluent).
Has been hands-on coding within the last 2 years.
Experience managing a team of ICs and conducting code reviews (PRs).
CS degree from top-30 school (US/CA/EUR only)
Fullstack capability: Kubernetes
Kafka Redis Elasticsearch
Excited about managing a team of ICs and conducting code and performance reviews
Willing to be in office in SF 5 days a week.
