Engineering Manager Machinery Integration
Job Summary
The Opportunity:
You will lead a group of 3-10 engineers designers and analysts who provide our NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC/USCG/FMS Technical and Program Office clients with superb engineering support in developing the next Navy ships and providing engineering support to existing vessels. You will perform as a key engineering lead directly supporting our key client vessels including aircraft carriers combatants amphibious auxiliary and specialized mission ships from program initiation through concept design construction life cycle/OERAs and fleet support. Your ancillary duties will require management of accurate engineering resources staffing plans and alignment with existing program needs for stable revenue and future growth forecasts. As a technical group lead you will ensure engineering and Quality Assurance standards are met for the Naval Engineering team(s) and associated Programs Projects and Tasks. You will stay current in modern ship design requirements and analysis technologies. You will be a self-starter perform as a team player cross multiple engineering management teams and support technical proposal development as needed. The Primary Focus for this role is lead for all Main Machinery Propulsion (Diesel Electric Integrated Electric) and associated electrical and mechanical systems their equipment controls and systems engineering support. Candidate will have a background in design of marine propulsion and complex design integration mechanical systems including electrical machinery control systems and associated switchgear lubricating and fuel oil(s) cooling systems and associated control systems. Candidate will be familiar with prime movers for propulsion and generating machinery such as medium and high-speed diesel engines gas turbines and marine boilers. Candidate will be expected to maintain functional understanding of changes in regulatory aspects of machinery design including classification notations such as R-2 and DP. Candidate will be well-versed in mechanical design resources and will improve team efficiency and functionality in concept and detailed design deliverables by staying current in modern design and drawing trends.
Responsibilities:
Ensures that NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC/USCG/FMS Clients Technical Warrant Holders and Ship Design Managers receive accurate technical advice in a timely fashion
Meets with key NAVSEA NSWC MSC and PEO customers to determine future engineering and technical needs in the marketplace
Coordinates with Mechanical Engineering Schools to develop recruiting pipelines and knowledge transfer opportunities.
Provides the workforce with the correct suite of engineering and analytical tools to perform engineering design and analysis.
Develops and improves design processes for mechanical modification and installation packages to improve quality and timeliness of customer deliverables.
Fosters a strong mentorship culture so that young employees receive training and oversight as they mature into fully capable engineers
Develops Subject Matter Experts who take ownership of key main and auxiliary systems.
Ability to support specific areas in proposals and targeted growth areas with willingness to learn larger Proposal support efforts.
Self-Starter multi-task capability technically savvy interpersonal skills team player and ability to market our CACI team capabilities.
Client interface with acquisition and multiple technical program PMs PAPMs SDMs TWHs SEMs DIMs are required to provide technical solutions and recommendations and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Ability to enter and gain a foothold in new markets such as Amphibs USCG Combatants Carriers FMS Programs USCG Programs Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMSs) and/or Unmanned Maritime Vehicles (UMVs) other markets in 05Z/05P/05S etc.
Explicit Knowledge of ABS MVR/ABS NVR NAVY SPECs (e.g. GSO/NCDS/NSTMTPUBs Mil-Std) and Commercial Specs (ASME ASTM ANSI) and standards is a must.

Pay Range:
