Overview/ The Role:
The Engineering Technology and Design (ET&D) Division is hosting an invite-only hiring event for qualified candidates. Analyzes researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design or operation of product to include structures mechanical hydraulic electrical and electronics power plant armament heating and ventilating equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance durability design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA IDEAS ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.
Positions will support the following areas within the Engineering Technology and Design Division
Key Responsibilities:
Support various on-going efforts in the areas of shock and vibration qualification of equipment static and dynamic analyses of steel structures and naval shock and vibration analysis as it relates to foundation design

Bachelors Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;
Masters Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

DOD Security Clearance is preferred but not required to start
