Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
TheEngineer Retail Technologyis responsible forthe planning and engineering of an organizations systems infrastructure. This includes the implementation and design of hardware and software andmonitoringthe performance of systems. This role is familiar with standard concepts practices and procedures within a particular field and relies on experience and judgment to plan andaccomplishgoals. TheEngineer Retail Technologyperforms a variety of tasks may lead and direct the work of others and has a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Administers a complex site alone orassistsin the administration of a larger site.
Initiates new responsibilities and helps to plan the overall future design of the site/network.
Performs system audits to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
Mentors andtrainsSystem Engineers.
Evaluates and/or recommends purchases; hasstronginfluence onpurchasingprocess.
Working with Enterprise System Architects to drive direction on how systems aremaintainedimplementedand supported in our Retail Locations

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required:BachelorsDegreeinComputer Science Information Technology Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience: 4-6 yrs Linux experience Preference SUSE
Strong written and verbal communication skills
KNOWLEDGESKILLSAND ABILITY:
5 years of progressive IT engineering experience
Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale systems
Proficiencywith scripting or programming languages
Experience with cloud-native and modern DevOps tooling
Deep technicalexpertiseand problem-solving ability
Leadership through influence and mentorship
Risk-aware decision-making
Strong ownership and accountability
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearlywithin your specified tech stack.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Up to 25%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasionally walks and stands.
Seldomly or never lifts up to 50lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies procedures andobjectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments.Usesjudgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desiredresult. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies procedures and practices.
