The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience ranging from $96400 to $120500.

Job Summary

The engineer will lead teams/projects that solve moderately complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Able to work independently with guidance. Position reports to the UI DER Unit Manager and support department needs as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Solve moderately complex Distributed Generation (DG) problems. Utilizes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. (e.g. Customer generators photovoltaic systems fuel cells).

  • Approve maintain & understand drawings (e.g. schematics one-line diagrams site plans). Develop & specify equipment assemble documents & other requirements for assignments of complex level of difficulty using depth & breadth of expertise in own discipline.

  • Manage and provide direction for resources outside of the department/company.

  • Possess knowledge within DG industry and interpret processes and standards related to DG systems. Recommend solutions and best practices where appropriate.

  • Perform standard electrical engineering analyses designs and calculations using standard methodology and principles and other viable approaches. Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services.

  • Solve straightforward electrical engineering problems. Analyze possible solutions and assess each using standard procedures related to lines and power engineering.

  • Support technical requests from current and proposed customers with regards to generator interconnections.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BT in Engineering related field and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

  • Basic Knowledge of the various operating systems and programs used by the department.
