Emergency DVM Frederick MD

A growing veterinary emergency and specialty practice is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join a collaborative and supportive team. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys emergency medicine thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing high-quality care to urgent and critically ill emergency team is responsible for triaging stabilizing diagnosing and treating emergent cases while working closely with other veterinary departments and support staff. Responsibilities
  • Triage evaluate stabilize and treat emergency and critical patients.
  • Perform thorough physical examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
  • Manage urgent and life-threatening medical conditions in a timely and effective manner.
  • Communicate clearly with pet families regarding diagnoses treatment options and prognosis.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians assistants client care teams and specialty departments.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and available medical resources to support patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
  • Participate in case discussions rounds continuing education and other professional development activities.
  • Support effective patient flow and case management within the emergency department.
  • Practice according to established medical standards protocols and veterinary ethics.
  • Contribute to a positive respectful and collaborative team culture.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Active veterinary license in good standing in the applicable state.
  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine or general practice or completion of a rotating or specialty internship.
  • Ability to quickly assess and respond to unplanned and emergent medical situations.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing a high standard of veterinary medicine and patient care.
