PositionOverview

EOSolutionsisseekinganEmbeddedSoftwareEngineertosupportthedevelopmentintegrationandtestingofembeddedcontrolsoftwareforadvancedHighEnergyLaser(HEL)systems.

Thispositionwillprimarilysupportourdirectedenergyprogramsdevelopingsoftwarethatinterfacesdirectlywithsensorsactuatorselectronicscommunicationshardwareandcontrolsystems.

Wearelookingforengineerswhoenjoyworkingattheboundarybetweensoftwareandelectricalhardware.Theidealcandidatehasastrongfoundationinembeddedprogrammingandenoughelectricalengineeringknowledgetotroubleshootrealsystemsusingschematicsoscilloscopeslogicanalyzersandotherlaboratoryequipment.

KeyResponsibilities

• DevelopembeddedsoftwareandfirmwareinRustorC/Cforreal-timecontrolsystems.
• Integratesoftwarewithsensorsactuatorsmotorcontrollerscommunicationsinterfacesandotherhardware.
• Developandtestcommunicationsbetweenembeddeddevicesandhigher-levelcontrolsystems.
• Debughardware/softwareinteractionsusinglaboratoryequipmentsuchasoscilloscopesmultimetersandlogicanalyzers.
• Developautomatedunitintegrationandhardware-in-the-looptests.
• Participateinsystemintegrationlaboratorytestingandfieldtesting.
• Workcloselywithsoftwareelectricalmechanicalopticalandcontrolsengineers.
• DevelopmaintainablesoftwareusingGitcodereviewsCI/CDandautomatedtesting.
• Documentsoftwareinterfacesdesignstestproceduresandresults.
• UsemodernAI-assistedsoftwaredevelopmenttoolswhileindependentlyverifyinggeneratedcodeforcorrectnesssafetyandmaintainability.

RequiredQualifications

• BachelorsdegreeinComputerEngineeringElectricalEngineeringComputerScienceorarelatedtechnicaldiscipline.
• ExperienceprogramminginRustCorCthroughprofessionalworkinternshipscourseworkresearchorpersonalprojects.
• Understandingofembeddedsystemsandbasicelectricalengineeringconcepts.
• Abilitytoreadelectricalschematicsandtroubleshoothardware/softwareinterfaces.
• FamiliaritywithcommonembeddedinterfacesorprotocolssuchasEthernetI2CUART/RS-232/422orsimilar.
• Strongproblem-solvingskillsandinterestinhands-onhardware/softwaredevelopment.
