Elementary School Counselor (Lower Elementary)

Required:

• Masters Degree in School Counseling
• Michigan K-12 Teaching Certificate with NT endorsementorSchool Counselor License (SCL)

Considered:

• Candidates currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Counseling with a minimum of 18 credit hours completed

• Provide academic personal/social and career counseling for students through individual and group sessions
• Assist in the planning and delivery of a comprehensive counseling curriculum
• Use a variety of instructional and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
• Collaborate with teachers parents administrators and community stakeholders to support student development
• Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and 504 processes including monitoring and scheduling
• Identify students in need of additional support and coordinate appropriate interventions
• Provide brief counseling and refer students/families to external resources when needed
• Lead career awareness and development initiatives
• Stay current on technology use in counseling and participate in professional learning
• Maintain ethical and legal standards of the school counseling profession

• Per Clinton Education Association (CEA) Contract
