As an Electronic Lab Technician IV you will serve as a senior technical expert in the design development and testing of electronic systems and components. You will lead advanced research projects provide mentorship to junior technicians and drive innovation in electronic design and testing methodologies.
- Lead the design and development of highly complex electronic systems and components providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct advanced research and experimentation to explore emerging technologies and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Design and implement sophisticated test procedures and protocols to evaluate the performance reliability and functionality of electronic devices and systems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex electronic circuits and systems leveraging extensive experience and expertise to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior lab technicians fostering their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers scientists and product managers to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in electronic design and testing applying knowledge to improve processes methodologies and technologies.
- Extensive expertise in electronic design tools and software including schematic capture PCB layout and simulation software.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic principles circuits and components with a strong emphasis on analog and digital circuits.
- Proficiency in electronic test equipment and instrumentation including oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex electronic systems and circuits with a track record of successful problem resolution.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and provide mentorship to junior technicians.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and test equipment experience.
- Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals (Ohms Law diodes etc.).
- Hands-on soldering electronic rework and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable working around 480V equipment wearing PPE following strict safety procedures and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Able to explain a complex troubleshooting scenario using test instruments.
- Oscilloscope experience (highest priority).
- Multimeter experience.
- Power Meter experience.
- Extensive experience with specialized electronic testing techniques such as RF testing EMC testing or environmental testing.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations for electronic design and testing including IPC standards and FCC regulations.
- Experience with hardware description languages (e.g. Verilog VHDL) for FPGA design.
- Proven track record of successful project management and leadership in electronic design and testing projects.
- R&D validation/testing experience or lithium-ion battery experience.
- LCR Meter Data Logger or Scope Recorder experience.
- Associate degree in Electrical Electronics or related technical field from an accredited institution (required); candidates actively pursuing an Associates may also be considered.
- Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
- Masters degree or advanced certification in Electronics Engineering or related field (preferred).
- Background in Electrical Engineering Electronics Power Electronics Mechanical IT/Networking or Computer Science with strong hands-on electrical experience (preferred).
- 6 years of experience in a laboratory or technical environment with a focus on electronic design and testing.
- Must be comfortable working around 480V equipment.
- Required to wear PPE and follow strict safety procedures.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs required.
- Interview Process:
- Round 1: Virtual technical interview. - Round 2: On-site lab tour and team interview.
- The hiring manager values technical aptitude troubleshooting ability and hands-on lab experience over direct UPS or 480V experience. Strong R&D-minded technicians with solid electrical fundamentals and instrumentation experience are the best fit.
