What Youll Do
Test verify and troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems to ensure proper operation across all phases of construction.
Perform phoning circuit continuity verification and functional testing of power and lighting systems.
Operate and interpret results from electrical test equipment including voltmeters ammeters ohmmeters megohmmeters power analyzers and other diagnostic tools.
Test and validate highvoltage systems including 480V and 4160V power distribution equipment.
Inspect troubleshoot and verify the functionality of motor controls transformers power panels switchboards and PLCbased control systems.
Support testing of electronic and fiberoptic systems such as radar sonar communications propulsion and navigation equipment.
Read and interpret marine blueprints wiring diagrams schematics and technical manuals to ensure accurate testing procedures.
Work in active shipyard environments involving heights confined spaces and variable conditions.
Follow safety procedures that meet and often exceed industry standards.

What You Bring
Proven experience testing and troubleshooting shipboard or industrial electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics drawings and wiring diagrams
Strong working knowledge of electrical diagnostic equipment and safe testing practices
Reliability teamwork and commitment to highquality craftsmanship
Familiarity with both standard and metric measurement systems
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the marine shipyard or industrial electrical field.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.
Strong working knowledge of electrical test equipment including:
Voltmeters
Ammeters
Ohmmeters
Power analyzers
Megohmmeters
Other diagnostic equipment
Experience working with 480V and 4160V electrical systems.
Knowledge of motor controls power panels transformers PLCs and switchboards.
