Electrician

The Electrician is responsible for installing maintaining troubleshooting repairing and replacing a variety of electrical systems and components in County owned properties.

Description:

• Install maintain and repair electrical systems including new construction and remodel of County buildings. Install maintain and repair switch gear generators transformers lighting systems ups motors and controls VFDs A/C units fuel pumps and building automation systems. Ensure work is done in compliance with local electrical and safety codes and within budget.

• Maintain fire protection system including control panels smoke detectors sprinklers won doors audio/visual and door holders. Follow National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection Association codes.

• Provide emergency on call response to situations involving floods odors lighting HVAC fire protection and security. Assess the emergency and respond accordingly. Call appropriate personnel if necessary.

• Maintain building automation systems including programming and testing for the needs of County employees and public safety.

• Remove snow in a timely manner often after hours weekends and holidays. Maintain snow removal equipment. Ensure public safety.
• Shifts are 4 - 10 hours days per week.

• On call rotation required.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred- Relevant Specialized Training

Preferred - Five years of experience

May be required to obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License during employment.

May be required to possess a fork lift certification.

Salary ranges from $ 33.44 to $50.16 per hour
