Job Summary

PPS is seeking a dependable Electrical General Laborer to support our Field Operations team on industrial electrical controls and automation projects.

This position works directly under the direction of our Journeyman Electricians assisting with electrical installation material handling jobsite preparation equipment installation and general field support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman Electricians with daily field work.
  • Gather organize and stage tools materials and equipment.
  • Assist with pulling routing and organizing wire and cable.
  • Assist with conduit installation and preparation.
  • Help install electrical equipment control panels devices and components.
  • Assist with equipment mounting and installation.
  • Help with wire preparation labeling and basic terminations as directed and permitted.
  • Assist with installing sensors instruments motors and other field devices.
  • Help maintain tools materials and equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean organized and safe.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and equipment.
  • Support the Journeyman Electrician during troubleshooting startup and commissioning.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Journeyman Electrician or Field Operations leadership.

Safety & Quality

Safety is a critical part of this position.

  • Follow all company customer and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Follow OSHA and applicable electrical safety procedures.
  • Wear required PPE at all times.
  • Follow directions from the Journeyman Electrician and Field Operations leadership.
  • Never perform electrical work beyond your training authorization or qualifications.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Take pride in performing quality work and protecting equipment and materials.

Field Operations

Projects may include:

  • Industrial electrical installations
  • Controls and automation systems
  • Control panels
  • Motors and VFDs
  • Instrumentation
  • Automated piping and process systems
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Equipment installations and upgrades
  • Startup and commissioning

This is a field-based position and may require local regional and national travel depending on project requirements.

Previous electrical or construction experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

The position may require:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Lifting and carrying tools and materials.
  • Bending kneeling climbing and reaching.
  • Working indoors and outdoors.
  • Working around industrial equipment and construction environments.
  • Working from ladders or lifts when properly trained and authorized.
  • Safely moving materials and equipment with assistance when needed.
