Job Summary

Join Premier Automation as an Electrical Estimator and help develop accurate competitive solutions for industrial electrical and drive system projects. Youll review customer requirements design practical system concepts size components create single-line diagrams and bills of material and prepare professional estimates and proposals.

Based in Monroeville PA Premier Automation designs and builds custom control panels motor control systems drives and industrial automation solutions for manufacturers worldwide. This role works closely with customers Sales Engineering Purchasing and vendors to support technically sound profitable projects.

  • Schedule: MondayFriday daytime office hours with flexibility based on business and customer needs
  • Location & Reporting: Based fully on-site at our Monroeville PA office reporting to the Drives Manager
  • Travel: Occasional customer site visits training or industry events as project needs require
  • Team Collaboration & Impact: Work closely with customers Sales Engineering Purchasing vendors and project teams to develop accurate estimates and technically sound solutions
  • Technical Project Involvement: Review customer specifications and drawings develop preliminary system designs size electrical components and prepare complete project estimates
  • Interview Process: Virtual screening in-person interview and facility tour
  • Culture & Growth: Collaborative engineering environment with opportunities to expand your knowledge of industrial electrical systems drives motor control estimating and project execution

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As an Electrical Estimator you will:

  • Review RFQs customer specifications drawings and project requirements
  • Develop preliminary electrical system designs and single-line diagrams
  • Size and select drives motors transformers breakers and other major components
  • Create bills of material and obtain vendor pricing and lead times
  • Estimate material engineering manufacturing testing and project costs
  • Prepare competitive pricing and professional technical proposals
  • Clearly define project scope assumptions exclusions and technical risks
  • Coordinate with customers Sales Engineering Purchasing and vendors
  • Support the handoff of awarded projects to Engineering and project teams
  • Maintain accurate estimating records pricing and proposal documentation

Experience and Qualifications

What Were Looking For:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent industry experience
  • 2 years of relevant electrical estimating applications sales or automation experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment
  • Ability to read electrical drawings schematics specifications and single-line diagrams
  • Experience with system design component sizing BOMs estimates or technical proposals
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project profitability
  • Clear communication with customers vendors and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software

Preferred Experience:

  • Variable frequency drives motors motor controls MCCs or control panels
  • Electrical estimating applications engineering or technical electrical sales
  • Electrical equipment manufacturing distribution contracting or systems integration
  • Customer application review and technical solution development
  • Project pricing cost analysis margins and profitability
  • Custom-engineered or project-based manufacturing environments
