Electrical Engineering Lead

Job Summary
This position is contingent upon contract award and subsequent task-order requirements. It is intended to support SHELADIAs pursuit of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) 2026 Worldwide A/E Support Services IDIQ. Employment assignments travel and project responsibilities will be based on awarded task orders.
The program may support planning design construction facility rehabilitation system replacement security upgrades communications facilities and building maintenance at Foreign Service posts worldwide and OBO offices in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Services may include professional support services constructability reviews critical-path schedule and risk analyses and project-budget analyses.
The Electrical Engineering Lead will direct facility assessments electrical infrastructure upgrades system replacements and modernization programs for reliable resilient secure energy-efficient and mission-critical facilities.
- Lead assessments and studies of normal and emergency power electrical distribution lighting grounding lightning protection controls and related electrical systems.
- Evaluate electrical capacity condition reliability redundancy power quality code compliance maintainability and remaining service life.
- Develop repair replacement resiliency modernization energy-efficiency and life-cycle improvement recommendations.
- Support mission-critical power systems including generators uninterruptible power supplies renewable energy microgrid concepts and energy-management initiatives.
- Coordinate electrical requirements with architectural mechanical structural fire-protection communications information-management physical-security and technical-security systems.
- Support facility-condition assessments maintenance planning feasibility studies and capital-improvement programs.
- Prepare and review electrical calculations one-line diagrams studies drawings specifications technical reports cost inputs schedules and scopes of work.
- Participate in multidisciplinary Integrated Design Reviews and independent technical reviews throughout the design process.
- Support constructability reviews value engineering construction administration testing commissioning system turnover and operational readiness.
- Provide quality-control reviews mentor engineering staff and support proposals interviews and client presentations as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience assessing designing or modernizing complex building electrical and emergency-power systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical life-safety energy grounding lighting and mission-critical power standards including generators UPS and lightning protection.
- Proficiency with power-analysis lighting BIM/CADD energy and document-review platforms.
- Strong leadership communication technical writing and professional judgment skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government personnel security clearance when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Experience with diplomatic federal defense institutional data communications mission-critical or high-security facilities.
- International experience with challenging utility conditions voltage/frequency differences unreliable service and local equipment availability.
- LEED AP RCDD CEM commissioning credential or another relevant certification.
- Experience coordinating U.S. Government standards with host-country laws codes authorities and construction practices.
Additional Information :
International and domestic travel is expected and may include short-notice trips to overseas diplomatic facilities and other project locations. Travel requirements may vary based on assigned projects task orders and client requirements.
Salary: $130000$195000 per year commensurate with experience and qualifications.
