IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Long Island NY. Over 10-12 weeksyoullassistin the analysis design andimplementationoversight of electrical systems in buildings while working closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants.
This paid mentored internship offers real project work supporting design coordination documentation and project progress across disciplines.Youllcontribute to projects in government/municipal and science & technology markets while helping teams meet project goals client expectations and budget requirements.

What Youll Do
Assistwith electrical system design for building projectsin accordance withcode and IMEG standards
Assistwith engineering analysis design and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings
Assistwith researching commercially available equipment
Assistwithmaintainingclient relations project design notebooks and documentation for permanent record files
Assistwith coordinating design and schedule with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment supplier teams
Assistwith documenting design decisions meetings and client instructions whilemonitoringproject design progress
Assistwith reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
Assistwith preparing and issuing addendum information
Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement
Work within the projects monetary budget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
What Youll Bring
Education
Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required
Experience

Required Skills/Abilities
Strong interest in design consulting
Previousexposure to CAD and/or BIM software
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 Pounds
Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

State of New York Salary Range: $22 $24
Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
