Location:Onsite (preferred Redmond WA but will also accept Burlingame)

Duration:6 months

Compensation:$62 - $82hr

Title:Electrical Engineer V

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer V with strong experience in RF hardware design for consumer electronics including RF front-end development schematic and PCB layout board bring-up simulation lab debugging and system-level validation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience taking RF designs from concept through simulation prototype bring-up performance optimization and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop RF schematics and PCB layouts for research systems and devices.
  • Partner with vendors on DFM and manufacturing activities.
  • Perform RF link budget analysis and troubleshoot RF performance issues in the lab.
  • Conduct RF circuit simulation and 3D electromagnetic simulation.
  • Tune optimize and validate conducted RF performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external vendors to meet RF performance requirements at the component board and system levels.
  • Work closely with antenna and test engineers to ensure overall system quality and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in RF hardware design for consumer electronics.
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with RF front-end and SoC schematic design layout capture and board bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment for device characterization debugging and component/system performance validation.
  • Experience with RF circuit simulation and electromagnetic simulation software.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or PhD in RF Electromagnetics Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using Cadence or Altium.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi Bluetooth and/or cellular RF module design optimization and validation.
