Job Summary
- Design power distribution (utility coordination transformers switchgear panelboards feeders) lighting/controls fire alarm emergency/standby power UPS and low-voltage systems
- Prepare construction documents: plans specs single-lines panel schedules equipment layouts
- Perform load calcs voltage drop fault current and equipment sizing
- Coordinate with architectural/structural/mechanical/plumbing/fire protection teams
- Review shop drawings submittals RFIs change orders; conduct site visits and construction observation
- Ensure NEC NFPA CEC and local code compliance
- Mentor junior engineers; manage budgets/schedules; support client meetings and proposals
- BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years commercial electrical design experience
- PE preferred; EIT with path to PE considered
- Strong knowledge of power distribution lighting emergency/standby power fire alarm low-voltage systems and coordination studies
- Thorough knowledge of NEC NFPA CEC Title 24 and local codes
- Strong communication organization and project management skills
- CA PE license (or reciprocity eligibility)
- Experience with healthcare lab mission-critical life sciences higher ed or mixed-use projects
- LEED AP or sustainable design experience
- Multidisciplinary team leadership
- Short-circuit coordination and arc flash studies (ETAP SKM or EasyPower)
