We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 7 years designing electrical systems for commercial building projects (commercial institutional healthcare educational hospitality mixed-use industrial). PE license strongly preferred; EIT with progressive design experience considered. Will independently lead design from concept through construction administration mentor junior staff and manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Design power distribution (utility coordination transformers switchgear panelboards feeders) lighting/controls fire alarm emergency/standby power UPS and low-voltage systems
Prepare construction documents: plans specs single-lines panel schedules equipment layouts
Perform load calcs voltage drop fault current and equipment sizing
Coordinate with architectural/structural/mechanical/plumbing/fire protection teams
Review shop drawings submittals RFIs change orders; conduct site visits and construction observation
Ensure NEC NFPA CEC and local code compliance
Mentor junior engineers; manage budgets/schedules; support client meetings and proposals
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
7 years commercial electrical design experience
PE preferred; EIT with path to PE considered
Strong knowledge of power distribution lighting emergency/standby power fire alarm low-voltage systems and coordination studies
Thorough knowledge of NEC NFPA CEC Title 24 and local codes
Strong communication organization and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
CA PE license (or reciprocity eligibility)
Experience with healthcare lab mission-critical life sciences higher ed or mixed-use projects
LEED AP or sustainable design experience
Multidisciplinary team leadership
Short-circuit coordination and arc flash studies (ETAP SKM or EasyPower)
Software:Revit AutoCAD SKM/ETAP/EasyPower AGi32 or Visual Lighting Bluebeam Revu MS Office BIM 360/ACC (preferred)
