Job Summary

Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer will support facility design operation maintenance construction and field activities in a fast-paced multi-discipline environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical power design experience particularly with low-voltage systems below 480V and is comfortable developing construction documentation specifications and complete engineering design packages.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform electrical engineering design analysis calculations and technical evaluations in support of facility projects.

Develop review and support complete engineering design packages including drawings specifications calculations and construction documentation.

Design and support low-voltage power systems with emphasis on common 480V-and-below applications including 208V and 120V systems.

Provide construction field and project engineering support including resolving field conditions and supporting implementation of design requirements.

Apply applicable industry regulatory DOE/NNSA and site-specific codes standards and engineering criteria.

Coordinate system integration within and across engineering disciplines and interface with project stakeholders.

Use computer-aided design/drafting software and electronic markup tools to develop review and communicate engineering changes.

Work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers technicians construction personnel and project teams.

Continuously improve engineering work processes to support quality schedule and customer needs.



Requirements
Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.

Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering experience aligned with facility design construction operation or maintenance.

Demonstrated electrical power design experience preferably involving low-voltage systems below 480V including 208V and 120V applications.

Experience developing construction documents technical specifications and engineering design packages.

Experience supporting field implementation and resolving or mitigating field conditions that affect design or construction.

Working knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory codes and standards including NEC NFPA IBC and NQA-1 as relevant to DOE/DoD facilities.

Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables and configuration-controlled design documentation.

Experience using CAD/drafting software and/or electronic drawing markup tools.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multi-discipline engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting DOE NNSA DoD national laboratory nuclear or other highly regulated facilities.

Experience with electrical controls or control systems.

Experience providing construction or field engineering support through installation testing commissioning or design change resolution.

DOE Q clearance or prior experience working in a cleared environment.

Clearance Requirements

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required with very limited exceptions and candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
