Electrical Engineer for Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Professional Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to design build and maintain automated systems for validating electrical components circuit boards and finished products. This critical role bridges product design and manufacturing by developing high-speed testing setups creating test software and optimizing test processes to ensure quality safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with National Instruments hardware and a strong understanding of electronics circuit design and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
ATE System Design & Maintenance:
Design schematics layouts and wiring for industrial electrical control panels and test fixtures.
Design build and maintain Automated Test Equipment systems.
Hardware Selection:
Research and specify test equipment including power supplies oscilloscopes data acquisition systems sensors and National Instruments test modules.
Select appropriate instrumentation for automated test systems.
Validation & Debugging:
Perform debugging of automated test systems.
Optimize automated processes to minimize test cycle time and maximize test equipment uptime.
Troubleshoot electrical and test system failures.
Test & Process Optimization:
Create test plans and develop test algorithms for RF analog and digital testing.
Debug product and test failures optimize test time and improve production yield.
Support cost-effective and high-quality production.
Develop test software and improve test process quality safety and efficiency.
Collaboration:
Work closely with design validation and manufacturing teams to understand product and test requirements.
Support smooth product releases and bridge product design and manufacturing activities.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure test equipment meets UL508A NFPA 79 and OSHA requirements.
Maintain safe electrical test equipment and control panel designs.
Technical Requirements (Must-have)
Experience: 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering for Automated Test Equipment.
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of electronics.
Strong understanding of circuit design.
Strong understanding of instrumentation.
Hands-on Experience:
Hands-on experience in manufacturing controls or test engineering.
Experience with National Instruments hardware.
Experience designing automated electrical test systems.
Experience debugging and optimizing automated test processes.
Desired Skills (Nice-to-have)
LabVIEW coding experience.
