Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer plays a vital role in designing developing and optimizing electrical systems control schematics and power distribution components for medium-voltage pad-mounted enclosures and overhead equipment. This position involves collaborating with various departments to ensure that all electrical protection and control systems operate efficiently safely and integrate seamlessly with mechanical structures in compliance with industry standards. The role contributes to enhancing the production environment by utilizing technical expertise leadership and problem-solving skills. The electrical engineer works closely with the cross-functional team to develop systems from conceptual stages through to factory implementation. The ideal candidate must be proactive detail-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and production goals. Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.

• Design develop and test electrical equipment and systems focusing on safety efficiency and reliability.

• Analyze electrical systems and components to identify hazards defects or the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.

• Direct and coordinate installation maintenance support documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications codes and customer requirements.

• Utilize AutoCAD to create and modify electrical schematics wiring diagrams and technical specifications for new and existing products.

• Perform detailed electrical calculations to establish standards and specifications.

• Prepare specifications and detailed Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM) for the procurement of electrical equipment and materials.

• Provide timely engineering and troubleshooting support to the factory floor for manufacturing issues component defects and new product launches.

• Collaborate with project managers operations teams and other departments to ensure smooth integration of electrical systems into manufacturing operations

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams keeping stakeholders proactively informed using clear positive communication.

• Ensure compliance with safety quality and regulatory standards across all electrical system layouts

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and implement necessary engineering changes.

• Provide technical expertise and training to junior engineers and cross-functional team members on electrical systems and best practices.

• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards including but not limited to National Electrical Code (NEC) Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Utility Electric Service Requirements (ESR) ANSI C37 IEEE C37.20.2 and UL/NEMA standards.

• Ability to promptly respond to and resolve customer technical issues while actively seeking feedback to improve service.

• Excellent troubleshooting root-cause failure analysis and analytical skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 5 years of electrical engineering experience preferably in a power distribution manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Must be proficient in AutoCAD

• SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience are a plus.
