• Regional coverage as needed to Baystate Noble Baystate Wing Baystate Franklin and Baystate Heart & Vascular in Northampton MA.

Summary:

Under the direction of the EKG Medical Director the incumbentis expectedto adhere to system and department compliance policies and any applicable laws and regulations.

Prepares patients for testing and performs the includes knowledge and support functions for SMS CIS Muse and Mars software and instructs patient in documents pertinent informationwith accuracy and reports life threateningdysrhythmias to physicians.

Works well as part of a team or a positive professional compassionate attitude towards patients and fellow healthcare providers.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Provide age-appropriate care to patients.

Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages for the following age groups and applies developmental theories and concepts when planning and implementing care for patients. Age groups:Neonate Infant & Toddler Children Adolescent Adult.

2) Maintains equipment in a clean and proper working order.

Cleans all equipment and patient care areas daily according to out minor adjustments to equipment whenever necessary according to department procedure and indicated log failures in the the coordinator/supervisor of serious malfunctions immediately

3) Communicates supply needs to coordinator/ the need for replacement supplies before inventory to ensure adequate supplies and review expiration supply inappropriate sites as instructed by the supervisor.

4) Consistently performs all EKG procedures independently and accurately including specifications provided by the clinical director of the EKG department. Acquires and Processes acquisition data thus providing the interpreting physician with a high-quality diagnostic for accurately documenting dataintothecomputer information systems e.g. SMS CIS Muse systems etc.

5) Appliesholtermonitors according to procedure and verifies initial holter patients onuse of the holtermonitor according to procedure and explains the importance of their journal. Removesholtermonitor prepares and cleans according to established procedures. Processesholtermonitor uploads and verifies data transfer to Mars software for scanning according to department procedure.

6) When scanningholters documents pertinent electrocardiogram information with 90-95% accuracy according toprocedureasobserved by random monthly review of computer potentially life-threatening electrocardiogram dysrhythmiaslistingin procedure to physicians with fewer than 1-2 errors/incidents per month

7) Functions as a preceptor/mentor for students fellows peers and enthusiasm and patience and provides honest constructive feedback. Actively seeks and is receptive to honest feedback from the healthcare team in a way to improve quality and performance

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Preferred Work Experience:

3 years of EKG experience

1 year of holter experience

Typically a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidates relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
