Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
What Youll Be Doing
  • Provide EHS leadership guidance resources and support for a manufacturing facility and associated operations.
  • Develop implement and maintain environmental health and safety programs that promote safe work practices and employee engagement.
  • Lead safety initiatives that foster a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Conduct new-hire safety orientations and deliver required annual training in accordance with OSHA EPA DOT and company requirements.
  • Partner with leaders and employees to identify evaluate and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Serve as a primary resource and champion for Safety Committees Emergency Response Teams and site leadership.
  • Lead incident investigations identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain required EHS documentation permits records and regulatory reports.
  • Conduct facility inspections audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment processes and work environments for safety and ergonomic improvements.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate engineering controls administrative controls and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Track analyze and report EHS performance metrics trends and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist with workers compensation case management return-to-work programs and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in EHS regulations and ensure ongoing compliance across multiple facilities.
  • Support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives including waste management and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations maintenance engineering and human resources teams to support business objectives and employee well-being.
What We Are Seeking
  • Bachelors degree in a related field such as industrial hygiene occupational health and safety engineering or a related technical discipline with 35 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA DOT and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent verbal written presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees management contractors and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.
  • Ability to travel between facilities as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) ASP (Associate Safety Professional) CHMM or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing dairy processing or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience leading regulatory audits environmental compliance programs and safety management systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and behavior-based safety programs.
