EHS Executive Leader – Wind Services

The Global Wind Services EHS Executive Leader will lead the execution and improvement of environmental health and safety (EHS) standards across GE Vernovas Wind Services organization by ensuring consistent execution of EHS programs and standards within Services. They will architect a safe working environment and minimize risks associated with operations overseeing more than 3000 GE Vernova employees 1000 contractors all to cover for a fleet of 25000 wind turbines across various countries and continents. This position is pivotal in implementing strategic EHS initiatives across our GE Vernova and contract labor partners for Services. Reporting directly to the Global EHS Leader for Wind this high visibility leadership role will work closely with the Global Services Leader to ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained. By implementing effective EHS policies this position directly contributes to the organizations overall objectives helping to foster a culture of safety and compliance that enhances productivity and protects the well-being of employees.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organizational Architecture & Strategy

• Own the Organization:Design and optimize the EHS organizational structure within Wind Services to ensure clear accountability rapid response and operational excellence across all continents.
• Strategic Partnership:Act as the primary EHS counterpart to the Global Services Leader was strategic partnerships with the Services Regional Leader and Contractor Operational Leader. Translate complex safety data into actionable business strategy ensuring that productivity and safety move in lockstep.
• Wind EHS COE Collaboration:Work with Wind EHS Centers of Excellence (COE) to bridge the gap between global standards and field reality using your execution expertise to streamline processes and ensure global programs are practical scalable and effective.

2. Operational Execution & Contractor Oversight

• Drive Execution:Direct the implementation of EHS initiatives across the services regions while focus thru the operational lens of O&M Blades and MCU High Risk Operations. Ensure that safety standards are not just documented but embedded into every maintenance task repair and field intervention.
• Contractor Risk Management:Own the contractor safety lifecycle. Engage directly with contractor leadership to align on EHS priorities enforce Life Saving Rules and ensure their work meets our uncompromising safety standards. You will work as a clear partner to the Wind Services Contractor Operations Leader.
• Disciplined Rollout:Lead the global deployment of EHS programs in coordination with Regional EHS Leads ensuring consistency discipline and high-performance standards across all regions.
• Operating Systems: Lead monthly reporting and problem solving associated with the Wind Services EHS KPIs inclusive of Wind Services and Wind EHS MOR preparation problem solving and action planning.

3. Investigations & Continuous Improvement

• Organizational Learning:Lead the investigation of high-risk near misses serious injuries and fatalities (Level A B and PSE incidents). Move beyond root cause analysis to drive systematic structural changes that prevent recurrence.
• Proactive Risk Management:Direct efforts in risk assessment and safety assurance. Move the organization from reactive to proactive by identifying hazards before they manifest as incidents.
• Data-Driven Performance:Develop and implement strategic initiatives focused on reducing incident rates Level A/B recordables and PSEs through targeted evidence-based interventions.

4. Leadership & Cultural Transformation

• Shape the Culture:Champion our Fatality-Free journey. Influence mindsets from the executive suite to the field technician ensuring safety is the foundation of our reputation.
• Mentor & Lead:Build recruit and develop a high-performing global EHS team. Mentor WSO operational leaders to ensure they are the primary champions of safety in their respective domains.
• Operational Liaison:Serve as the definitive voice on EHS performance for senior WSO leadership providing transparency on challenges compliance and the progress of our safety maturity.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in engineering or EHS related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Proven Leadership: Experience leading large-scale complex and geographically dispersed organizations in high-hazard industries including experience in EHS management or executing EHS programs in the field.
• Operational Mindset: Understanding how EHS is a business enabler and can balance rigor with agility to meet the demands of the business.
• Influence & Presence: Strong communicator that can persuade inspire and drive alignment among diverse global teams. You speak the language of the field and the language of executive leaders with equal authority.
• Drive for Results: Strong risk management experience in driving down incident rates through proactive leadership and structural change.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $192000 and $264000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
